Javier M. Gonzales has over 15 years experience as a leader in a broad range of projects in the public and private arenas.  Javier is a former Santa Fe County Commissioner, and subsequently has been effective in leading the local government business development efforts of Accenture, leading the Board of Regents of both New Mexico Highlands University and New Mexico State University, and leading NaCo, a national organization that represents more than 3,000 counties nationwide.  Marked by his ability to lead complex organizations and develop new coalitions for progress on a variety of issues, Javier's private sector experience, combined with his successful tenure as a nationally-recognized elected government official, has provided him with unique expertise and knowledge of the local government, business and regulatory environments.

Most recently, Javier worked as a Senior Advisor to former Mayor Anthony Williams in the formation of Primum, a bold new Public Realty Investment Trust based in Arlington Virginia.  Primum was created to provide a new capital source for government and not-for-profit organizations to fund projects and operations that make a positive difference in communities across the country.

A lifelong resident of Santa Fe County, Javier's commitment and dedication to public service is a family tradition.  His father, George Gonzales, also served as a Santa Fe County Commissioner and later was elected mayor of the City of Santa Fe in the 1970's.  Javier and his wife Consuelo have two daughters, Cameron and Cadence Gonzales.

Javier holds a B.A. in Accounting from New Mexico State University and is Chairman of the New Mexico State Democratic Party.
